DIVISION OF CORPORATE RELATIONS
About
The Corporate Relations Division serves as the strategic centre responsible for managing, coordinating, and strengthening the official communications of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) at both internal and external levels. Through an integrated and effective communication approach, the division ensures that every message, image, and activity representing the university is delivered consistently, accurately, and in alignment with UTM’s corporate identity.
This division plays a key role in building and maintaining UTM’s reputation as a globally recognized institution of higher learning. It encompasses several core functions, including media and publicity management, digital content development, corporate events and protocol management, creative design and branding, as well as corporate publications. Each of these functions is aligned with UTM’s mission to enhance strategic stakeholder relations, expand communication outreach, and promote the university’s achievements and expertise at the national and international levels.
As the backbone of the university’s communication strategy, the Corporate Communications Division ensures that all UTM communication channels — including websites, social media platforms, official events, and promotional materials — reflect the values, vision, and aspirations of UTM in sustaining excellence in academia, research, and innovation.

About
The Corporate Events & Protocol Unit is responsible for managing official university events and ensuring that all ceremonial and protocol standards are upheld in accordance with UTM’s corporate image and national guidelines.
This unit provides comprehensive advisory services and professional support for organizing official ceremonies, visits, and corporate events involving internal and external stakeholders. It ensures proper event coordination, guest management, and adherence to formal procedures that reflect the university’s prestige and identity.
By upholding protocol excellence, the unit enhances UTM’s reputation through well-organized, dignified, and impactful events.

The News & Media Relations Unit under the UTM Corporate Communication Centre plays a crucial role in managing the university’s reputation and visibility through effective communication with the media.
This unit is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, news agencies, and media outlets at local, national, and international levels. It ensures that UTM’s achievements, initiatives, and expert opinions are communicated effectively to the public through strategic storytelling, media pitching, and timely news dissemination.
Through proactive engagement and strategic media management, the unit strengthens UTM’s brand presence, promotes institutional transparency, and highlights the university as a thought leader in higher education, research, and innovation.
